Milan is beyond talented at tennis. So talented, in fact, that his coach, Julie, approached me this afternoon to ask me if he would be interested in playing for a local team, eventually competing against other talents in the region. How incredible! I was certainly proud of his exceptional performance and his ability to control his temper on the court.
With every day, I see more joy in the attitudes and developing character of the children. Perhaps I am just growing more attached to them. Perhaps I am just becoming more aware. I love the routine, the kids, the evening walks, the morning runs, the ocean waves below. I will say it again: my life just gets better and better. Does yours?
Cecil is almost walking and he is more excited to be alive every morning. Domino is enjoying school and she is speaking more English every day. Both boys are active in school, and I do enjoy being a part of their days in the classroom. Today, I read with Milan for a while and then accompanied Melvil to computer class. I love watching them succeed in the classroom. There is no greater reward than watching someone grow stronger and smarter. It's unbeatable.
I admire Laetitia for her patience and for her consistency. My greatest challenge has always been to remain under control in times of stress. I missed the "cool, calm, and collected" memo that she received early in life. I continue to learn how to slow down and stand still. I end up being more productive that way. Who would have thought.
Tomorrow morning, I am beginning Yoga classes. I am excited to get back into the swing of Yoga and to strengthen my body without beating it to death. But don't worry, I'm not giving up the running. I have new running shoes to break in a little bit more.
