You know you are in America when you can't get enough of Fox News. The first time that you wake up in the morning before sunlight and you turn on the TV in order to hear the morning show on Fox, you know you are addicted. Regardless of the political rat race pervading the channels or the unfortunate disaster on Wall Street, Fox News stands tall above the rest. For the first time in my life, I am interested in the well being of my country. I attribute the onset of such overwhelming nationalism to my time in France. Once again, another positive result of traveling abroad--your home feels more cozy than ever before.
Not only did I laugh at myself when I realized that I was watching TV as I brushed my teeth, but I spent the morning trying to recover from my first Yoga practice of this year. I love the soft strength-building exercises and poses that release stress and encourage healthy circulation. What a way to start the day! I am thrilled that I can start every day with Yoga now. Watch out, I will be a knock-out the next time you see me. Guaranteed.
It's interesting to note that I have been back on American soil for one month now, and I have so enjoyed every minute of it. I feel like I am still on vacation here at the beach, which eases my constantly racing mind, encouraging me to sit and relax. I adore the children more today than yesterday, and am so proud of them.
Tomorrow, I am off to the park with the two little ones and then to the Library with Domino for our weekly rendez-vous with the community children at Story Time. And, it's the first day of October. You know that every first of October I am off to the kitchen for all sorts of pumpkin-flavored delights. Ironically enough, French people do not know the joys of pumpkin. I am excited to introduce it to them.
The journey continues...
