I thoroughly enjoyed the festival at the Chateau de L'Emperi this evening. Oh, how magnificent! I took off to Salon-de-Provence for the Festival international de musique. The quaint little town welcomed my petite mercedes to its center, complete with picturesque foreign shops, obviously closed for the day, being Sunday and all. So, following the well labeled signs leading me through alley ways and around moss-decorated fountains bubbling ever so slightly with water from the French Alps (remember, I live at the foot of the French Alps right now!), I stood agahst with awe as I rounded the corner and confronted the enormous castle, famous for housing the French military during the revolution, as well as guarding such royalties as Louis XIV for a nights' stay. Can you imagine walking underneath the same rigid iron gates as some of the greatest European leaders of the ancient world? Am I crazy to think that it was absolutely amazing to see the musical spectâcle underneath the open sky overflowing with sparkling stars? I cannot say that I have spent a more enjoyable evening since I have arrived.
Yes, the journey continues to unfold new mysteries and surprises of all sorts every day. The days abroad are quickly coming to a close, but the love of life that I so adamantly cling to continues to grow amidst the grand opportunities waiting for me. I am so glad you are here enjoying it along with me.
