get to know laguna beach

Car shopping is never fun. I remember accompanying my dad to the car dealership a couple of years ago to find a car for me to drive while at school in Virginia and the headache that suddenly attacked my little brain. The process is grueling to say the least, but the product is exciting. So, when I went with the boys and Stephane today to look at Saabs, the memories of the headache turned into reality once again. While we haven't yet found the perfect car, we were able to go to my favorite grocery store, Whole Foods, to bring home the bread.

I am indispensible here in America. I belong here. With each step I take back towards Virginia (where I am headed after Christmas), my feet are more firmly planted. I am thrilled that I am of such help to this family. I am pushed to every one of my limits here, as I am responsible for being the tour guide, helping hand, entertainer, and know-it-all simultaneously. Needless to say, I am exhausted in a way that I have never felt before. At the same time, I am having the time of my life. I am right where I am supposed to be.

Tomorrow, car shopping again and school supplies. Tuesday marks the first taste of American public schools for Melvil and Milan and I must say that they will be superstars. They are brilliant and I have never been more proud of them.
